[Exercise] Project Analyzer

Description

Project Analyzer is introduced in Designer v1.5. When the project is saved, a thorough analysis is performed to help validate data and diagnose project configurations before you save or share the project. Guidance is provided to help fix errors or warnings on the Messages pane. Click on the error or warning message to locate the issue.

The project can be saved with warnings. However, it cannot be saved until all the errors are resolved. See below screenshot of how the analyzer works in QuickCapture.

Test Areas

Steps:

1. Sign in to QuickCapture designer. Follow instructions on the WIKI page.
2. If you already don't have any projects yet,
   • Follow the steps to create a QuickCapture project with existing feature layers you have.
   • Follow the steps to create a QuickCapture project from scratch.
3. Refer to the list below to reproduce the errors and verify the error and warning messages are populated accordingly.

Errors

• No feature layers
  • Add at least one feature layer to the project
• XXX layer is not shared with project users
  • Update sharing of the layer
• Buttons target an invalid layer
  • Check the target feature layer has been shared with you, or choose another.
• XXX layer does not have the create capability
  • Enable Editing (Add features) in the layer settings
• XXX map is not shared with project users
  • Update sharing of the map item
• Invalid map
  • Check the map has been shared with you, or choose another
• No buttons
  • Add at least one button to the project
• Required capture fields for XXX button are empty
  • Add value to the required fields
• Required capture fields for unlabeled button are empty
  • Add value to the required fields
• XXX button does not target a feature layer
  • Set target feature layer for the button
• Invalid horizontal accuracy settings
  • Update the settings

Warnings

• No project description
• No data recovery email
• Project user input is not applied to a field in any button
• Project is not shared with anyone
• Duplicate button labels in XXX group
• XXX group is empty
• Project thumbnail has not been updated
