[Exercise] Location tracking #55

Enable location tracking for QuickCapture project

  1. Sign in to QuickCapture Designer, make sure you are using the v1.12 qaext URL: https://qaext.arcgis.com/apps/quickcapture
  2. Create a New Project from Template. Choose any template you'd like to use.
  3. Open the project, on the top toolbar, click Location tracking option from the menu.
  4. Switch on the toggle to enable Location tracking for this project.
  5. Make location tracking either Required or Optional.
  6. Specify the Update interval of the last known location of the signed-in user of this project.
  7. You can use your own web map as the project map.
  8. When you're done, Save the project.

Test location tracking enabled project on the mobile app

  1. Sign in with the given account in the mobile app.
  2. Download the project you just created.
  3. If Location tracking is required, open the project and you will see the location tracking status bar is active.
  4. If Location tracking is optional, open the project, you can enable location tracking anytime by turning it on from the bottom status bar.

Use a visualization app to view and verify your track and location

  1. Use the Track Viewer app (https://quickcapture.maps.arcgis.com/apps/trackviewer/track-views) to check your data.
  2. You can also create a dashboard app to use your own web map to better organize how to visualize your own data.

On smaller screens, it is not obvious there are additional buttons available requiring scroll down.
