What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. downloaded and installed 3.9.17 (4.0 alpha) from this source 
http://svsip.free.fr/repository/cydia

2. touched app to open

3. App imediattley closes

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I want to use the app

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
3.9.17 (4.0 alpha)

2G 3.1.3 jailbroken

Please provide any additional information below.

is this only compatible with Arm 7? and wont open on a 2G since its Arm 6?

Sure, Siphon 3.9.17 is for iOS 4.0 and later.
Logically you can use Siphon from BigBoss repository for iOS 3.

is this the latest version I can use on the iOS 3.1.3?
