Network shared contents not visible in 'Shared Folders' #26

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Add a shared network folder with videos
2. The contents of the shared folder are displayed and able to stream
3. After a reboot the shared folder name is there but no contents are displayed

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I've been able to add a shared network folder and see the the contents of that
folder when I click "Shared Folders" from the Collections page. It seems as
though after I reboot the VLC pc I'm only able see --Move on, there is nothing
more to see here-- text when I re-connect.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
XP SP3 VLC-Shares 0.5.4

Please provide any additional information below.
The VLC pc and the pc with videos both have the same admin credentials and I've
selected 'Reconnect at login' when mapping the drive.
I've rebooted the VLC pc, let it fully boot, opened the mapped drive folder,
then started EasyPHP with the same results
I've added and removed the network share many times. Theses are the
combinations I've tried to re-add the network share as:
\\192.168.0.2\D$\shares\Movies
\\192.168.0.2\shares
\\192.168.0.2\Movies
\\Servername\shares
\\Servername\Movies
Y:\ (Windows mapped drive letter)
Y:\shares\Movies (Windows mapped drive letter)
Y:\Movies (Windows mapped drive letter)
I'm able to access the Movies folder from Windows with all of the combinations
above but after initially being able to see the network share contents from the
browser I seems to lose the connection.
The PC's are set to never sleep/hibernate
I've uninstalled VLC-Shares and removed the remaining folders, rebooted and
reinstalled three times. Each time I've been able to see the network share in
the browser at the start but either after a reboot or period of time the share
is no longer valid.

I don't think this problem is related to vlc-shares itself.

Anyway, attach a debug log to provide more informations

Thanks for the reply and you are correct, the link you included describes my
problem precisely. Simply changing the permissions on the shared network
folder has allowed my vlc server to connect every time.

You've done a great job with this streaming server and made the installation
process very straight forward. Thanks for making this available to us.
