English used in Jug Events is a little rough #2

My JUG recently started using JUG Events to manage our meetings etc.

I noticed some of the English used in the app is a little rough. So, I 
thought I'd modify some of the messages and provide a patch.

I won't claim that all of the English in this file is perfect, but I've 
made several improvements. (I am a native English speaker.)

Thank you for the improvements. I merged to the trunk and they are online yet.

Please note that this is no more the home of JUG Events project. JUG Events has 
its
own project (and repository, issue management and mailing lists) now:
