Tunnelblick forgets autoconnect #83

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open 'Datails'
2. Select 'Automatically connect on launch'
3. Close Details
4. Shut down Tunnelblick
5. Open Tunnelblick again => it works. Tunnelblick autoconnects.
6. Close Tunnelblick again
7. Open Tunnelblick again => doesn't work. The tunnel stays closed.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
For me it would be normal, that Tunnelblick would safe this setting and
autoconnect on EVERY launch. Not just on the next. As it is, I have to
select the option every time again. Like that I could just as well manually
connect each time.

What version of Tunnelblick are you using? On what version of OS X? PPC or
Intel?
Tunnelblick 3.0b10
Mac OS X 10.5.6
Intel Processor

Please provide any additional information below.
I have seen that some others are having the same problem, but I found no
solution to it. Can you help me?

Fixed in trunk as r77.

What do I as unexperienced user have to do with the changes given in r77?? What
do I
have to change?
Can't those changes be implemented in a new version/patch and be made available
for
download?

The changes will be made available in a new version of Tunnelblick after they
have
been tested and integrated with other changes. I don't know when that will be
-- I
hope in days or weeks, but it is up to the developers.

If you have the skills (or courage!), you can download the Tunnelblick source
code
and compile your own version of Tunnelblick with the latest (untested) changes.
Since
the Tunnelblick application contains everything needed within itself, it is
easy to
try new versions without disturbing your existing setup. I am working on a "how
to"
that describes the process and will announce it when it is available (I hope in
the
next week or two).

If you are adventuresome, I've posted a guide to creating a new version of
Tunnelblick from the source code. It is called "Compiling Tunnelblick from
Source",
and is available at
