Growl hogging CPU at over 100% #422

I am using Growl with Growler for Google Notifier and invariably at some point
in time it just eats up the CPU, which in turn spins up the fan like crazy.
When I try to access the Growl drop down menu from the menu bar, the icon
disappears, that's when I switch to Activity Monitor and kill the process.
When I restart its fine again.

I noticed another user had a similar problem and I think this could be related
to many notifications getting spit out together.

I am on Growl 1.3.2.
