[Help] What can I do with the config file? #31

Hello,I have your bot in our KHUx server (good bot, btw). But I've been having some "issues" with it.

Like,I would like the bot to do a "here" in Discord when he tells us about the raid boss or union cross boost. I know I can edit "things" in the config file, but honestly, there's like 3 lines in that file. And I honestly don't know what to do.

PD: Idunno, maybe a keyblade command would be nice (like showing the materials, slots and multipliers of the keyblades),BUT HEY,IT'S NOT NECESSARY. The bot is perfect as it is. Good job. ;D

There should be at least 2 files in the config: one for the bot and the others for the server. The one you want to edit is the one for your server, which has the file name of your server id. I’m in the works of created a command to edit those in Discord, but as of now, you’ll have to edit them manually and call !config load.

As for Keyblades, that is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, but haven’t got around to it yet. It’ll be here some day.

Welp,it looks like I don't have that config file. I have the one for the bot (it looks like),but nothing else.

I download the KHUx.Bot and install it. When it's done,a khuxbot config folder appears. Inside there's only one folder with the following:

"#This is the config file for the KHUx Bot. Consumer/Access tokens are for communicating with the Twitter API.

Wed Feb 21 22:11:13 CET 2018

Bot_Token= Version=1.6.4 Salt_Count=0"

But that's it. It's strange how I don't get the config for the server. Maybe I did something wrong? The bot works fine in our group though..

Did you create a Discord app through https://discordapp.com/developers/applications/me and put in the bot token? If not, I think you may just be using my host and installing this for no reason... Because without doing this, there's no way you could connect the bot to a server, thus never creating a server config file.

RataDeOrdenador commented 6 years ago

I did. I called it "Keybot". I have the token, opened the jar file and dropped the entire token in there to install it. The bot works fine in the server, with !medal and !lux and all that. The server config file it's just not appearing...

Maybe I AM doing it wrong. But for me,and all of our party members,it works perfectly.

Confirm that you're looking in the right directory. In the location that you are running the .jar file, open the folder named "khuxbot config".

If that's the right directory, try running !config save. If it says you need to be admin, have your server administrator run !admin for you or have them run it.

RataDeOrdenador commented 6 years ago

It is in the right directory. The "khuxbot config" appeared in the same folder (desktop) when I "installed" the bot.

And the bot said "Configuration file saved." when I ran the command,so the "admin powers" are not a problem either.

Is this still an issue? I changed the way the !config command works in the latest version, and you can use that to set your custom lux/uc messages.

RataDeOrdenador commented 6 years ago

I'm sorry for the late reply.

Well,it's not like the config command changes the messages at all... But we've already got used to the original ones,so it's fine. <3
