Updating README.md #614

There is a scope of improvement in the README.md file and i would like to update it. For Eg: "please see the xmonad website" can be replaced with "please refer to the xmonad website" . Such changes would make the file more convenient and edged to the readers and contributors. i would like to contribute to its betterment so please can you assign this issue to me.

Would that really be an improvement? This seems like a "mere" reformulation, which doesn't necessarily add value. I certainly agree that the README could use an overhaul, but I'm not sure that that would be it.

You could open a PR at anytime, especially if the changes aren't that big.

Regarding the README, I think it's better to keep the contrib README small and refer to the README of the core repository, so I'd suggest to make the improvements there
