Part of LSM-79 Fixes get-pip.py compatibility issue with Python 3.7

Minimal set of changes applied due to being an "audio pipeline repository" and Tensorflow being pinned for this ecosystem. New ticket raised to cover pushing to Python 3.12.

Changes can't actually be tested until repository access rights granted, but seeking review now to allow a quick merge when this does happen.
