'ADAT' output rather than 'S/PDIF' #2

Would it be possible for FPGA to drive a ADAT ouput (8-channel), rather than S/PDIF (2-channel)?

This would make Ultranet frontends a cheap(er) alternate to ADAT ones, and with twice the nominal channel count.

Hi, yes, this should be possible. Here I've found a ADAT-receiver: https://ackspace.nl/wiki/ADAT_project So coding a transmitter should be not a huge problem and the signals are fine for an FPGA. But I did not spend time on this specific protocol.
