Sound from only bottom speakers on HP ENVY x360 2-in-1 Laptop 15-ew0xxx #26

Hi,

I've got a "HP ENVY x360 2-in-1 Laptop 15-ew0xxx" (with a 0x103c8a29 hwC0D0/subsystem_id) with Debian testing and the speakers work partly. There seem to be 4 speakers built into the hardware, one left and one right of the keyboard and two more on the front bottom left and right. With these patches the bottom speakers work, but the top ones do not.

I'm using the current firmware from https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git/tree/cirrus, which do not include firmware for my specific device (cirrus/cs35l41-dsp1-spk-prot-103c8a29-), such that the system falls back to default firmware (cirrus/cs35l41-dsp1-spk-prot.).

I'm currently on kernel 6.5.0-5-amd64

Cheers and thanks for the effort Volker

Hi lusor, I am sorry to tell you, but there are no top speakers installed. HP ENVY x360 2-in-1 Laptop 15-ew0xxx has only two bottom speakers. The front facing grills next to the keyboard are purely aesthetic. Some forum for reference: HERE
