FYI: HP sound issues fully patched in Linux Kernel 6.9 #38

For those who have been relying on this patch, I just wanted to flag that the sound issues with HP devices have now been fully patched as of version 6.9 of the Linux kernel, which was just released in the mainline and should hit stable shortly. That makes this patch unnecessary if you can install that version on your OS.

Said patch also comes with some major benefits from an audio standpoint, as it is also significantly louder than the original due to some additional patching by Cirrus that this patch does not account for.

I have been using the patches in release candidate version of the kernel for a while and they work well. If you can swing the latest and greatest, they’re worth checking out.
