1. Get Visible to the boss

force your boss to know your recent progress and remember you and your work

2. Report in group meeting

At high level, state the significant part that you've done or the significant obstacle that you can not solve
For future work, give open plans for someone to do something, such as I need Martin's Signature for xxx Form before next Wednesday
No need to mention minor things(such as I emailed someone) that are already easily solved

When it's urgent/required, just make decisions no matter it's correct or wrong
