It would be nice if we could tune the detector exposure and number of frames live. This would mean that you could just specify some amount of statistical significance in the data and the beamline would take shots (at some exposure that does not stray out of the linear response region but maximizes the time spent exposing) until you have the images you want. This would not be helpful for time sensitive experiments but for static samples it could be very helpful.
