Lovely stuff. That typed-out catalog has to be Pat's doing - it reads like his missives.
@Bigquestionsinc Interesting that what is the "Sonic Tonix" 7er, Pat lists as "The Tonix" 7er. Mistake, or.. something else. Was "Sonic Tonix" considered a different band, or not?
And to confuse me more, in the Miracles and Wonders book, Pat clearly states that "Sonic Tonix produced two singles". The two singles listed in your top image as "The Tonix".
Sounds like the real, full name is "The Sonic Tonix", but the "short" name was "The Tonix".
So, whatdya think?
I'm at a place where I need to merge those two in JBC com V2, and want to see whether you think that's the right thing, based upon the evidence.
(I suppose I could ask Max, but my take is that he doesn't like to drege this stuff up, so I won't)
Hello xpollen8, Yes, it was originally The Sonic Tonix. The 1st incarnation of the band from 1980 in which Pat was the Producer and vocal duty’s were swapped between John Silver and Dave Golidie. Shortly after the 1st single Pat took over vocal duties and I do believe the band was still referred to as the Sonic Tonix. For a brief time. But, by the time they recorded the 2nd single they appear to dropped the Sonic from the title and just released it as The Tonix. Hence using both names being interchanged. Or going back and forth. The 1st single is Sonic Tonix (1980)Don’t’ Go Away / Telepathy The 2nd single is just “The Tonix”Strangers / Talk to me Dave Barker, refers the cover photo of Pat from “Bath Of Bacon” being taken at a “Tonix” show. When Pat was on vocals and sax. Hopefully this isn’t confusing! I’ll talk you I soon Dave! I am not sure if Pat wrote this out but, it certainly sounds like him lol! I am trying to find more info on it. I forgot who posted this on facebook. I took the image from somewhere but, for the life of me I can't remembered who posted it. It might have been Alex Novak. I'm trying to look into it now. It appears as though 109 Product is the DIY label for the 1st Tonix single "Strangers/Talk to Me". it.
I wonder if the The Bedroom Bonanza cassette is the cassette I posted about earlier with parts of Bath of Bacon and demos with the song "Spazz Out" on it?
