Create some type of hieroglyph or code, then make sentences or phrases to decipher. One using VR will be the only one to see the encrypted puzzle, while the one not using VR will be the one to decipher using the key code given.
This puzzle could be treated as the introduction to the game, and we could use the hieroglyphs for the other puzzles as well but maybe just as hints and not majorly about decoding it.

For the ones with codes, we could make it like the person in AR sees squares, circles, and other shapes, and has to count them each. The person in VR has the equation that they have to solve using the numbers counted, maybe just like in the picture below:

We could make the equations into integrals if you want to make it harder HAHAHAHA
