Can not install: "There is a problem parsing the package" #211

Is the issue specific to a particular dictionary?  If so, which one? (For
example: DE-EN or German-English).

No. Installing the program itself from the Dictionary_signed.apk file listed on 
the home page. I can not use Google Play or the outdated Marketplace and have 
to sideload onto this device (Sony PRS-T1.) Not sure why Google Play doesn't 
work as other report it does for them but as you have an available .apk this 
shouldn't be an issue.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Download Dictionary_signed.apk from main page.
2. Tranfer to rooted Sony PRS-T1
3.Run from Total Commander. Error message "There is a problem parsing the 
package" appears and nothing is installed.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The program to be installed, rather than the error message mentioned above.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version: Dictionary_signed.apk from project home page, early March 2014. 
Device: Sony PRS-T1 rooted but unable to get Google Play to work, or even 
associate with my Google account.
OS: 2.2.1

Please provide any additional information below.
I have tried downloading the file twice in case it was corrupt with the same 
result. Opening as a zip file seems to work so I don't think this is the issue. 
I wouldn't know what to look for in missing things. When trying to run to 
install the Package Name is blank though, which seems weird.

OK Google Play says it is incompatible with my device. I had found it on this 
list of confirmed compatible software though: 
http://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/PRST1_working_apps

Is there a way to get an older, working version? And how do I know which 
dictionary versions are compatible with which versions of software? Seems 
software is up to v5 yet dictionaries are up to v6. Or is the software on 
Google Play a little behind GIT?...
