Crash on load #304

NB: First check the wiki and existing issues!

What version of Procurement are you using? On what operating system?
Version 1.7.2
Windows 7

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Just started the program and logged in, on loading the inventory I get a 
crash.  The last message I see is the "Done!" before it loads the second window.

I'm merging this with Issue 303, since it is the same issue. Please take a look 
at my reply to that issue as it is applicable.
