I noticed in a lot of the submissions that use letters, they use the capital X / R / P letters. After taking a look at the world wide currency symbols, I got an inspiration to go very simple and go with a lower case 'r' with a slant at the top of the longest part of the 'r'.
My argument for this is:
It's pretty distinguishable compared to other currency symbols, and has the same kind of 'feel' as them as well.
Extremely easy to write
Hopefully easy to adapt into a font since the baseline is an 'r'.

My argument for this is:
I was mostly inspired off the following symbols:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florin_sign https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_rupee_sign
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Currency_symbol
What this doesn't address is the actual specs of the 'r'.
I'm arguing against the use of the letter X in designing the symbol because that's the ISO 4217 notation for an "X currency".
'r' is Ripple.
