Verify that you installed CurrentWidget on the internal memory. Widgets don't
work from the SD card.

Verified, CurrentWidget installed on phone internal memory, not the SD card.

Verified above with 3rd party app. Took a look with native Aplicatons, Manage
Applications which showed CurrentWidget was indeed not on in internal memory.
Moved to internal memory. CurrentWidget now appears in "Widgets" and creates a
log file and 'Log file not found' no longer apperars when attempting to view
log.

I have a nexus 4. to my knowledge it does not even support the concept of
'apps to SD' as no slot exists. how do I determine why there are no widgets
listed on my device for your app?

In the nexus 4 there is a "virtual" sd, so make sure the widget is on the
internal memory.
Also, did you try to restart the device?
Thanks.
