Describe the bug Xteve works fine with channels and "Live TV", but it doesn't recognized movies and series (VOD).

Server :

To Reproduce No error displayed.

Expected behavior My provider IPTV contains movies and series and I'll like to they displayed in Plex's libraries.

Every stream from the M3U is a TV Channel. In order for a channel to be available (green), program information from an XMLTV file is required.

Xteve it's a realy great usefriendly tool, but I'll like to understand what it can doe.

Xteve create a tunner and guide for TV Channels and it works fine for me on Plex. 👍

Now for example, I have a group with all movies and series from Netflix with my link m3u IPTV. This group isn't a TV Channel with it's guide, this is VOD. Can Xteve put this movies and series from Netflix in the libraries "Movies" and "TV shows" of Plex ?

No xTeVe generates a TV channel for Plex from every single stream from the M3U. The channel must be activated in the xTeVe mapping menu, but an XMLTV channel is also required for this or you can use the xTeVe Dummy.

So, Xteve can't organize VODs ?

Here is a example with the movie Mulan : This movie is a VOD, so it is not scheduled like a TV channel

#EXTM3U url-tvg="http://localhost/xmltv/xteve.xml" x-tvg-url="http://localhost/xmltv/xteve.xml"
#EXTINF:0 channelID="x-ID.15" tvg-chno="1015" tvg-name="|FR| Mulan (2020) VFF"
tvg-id="1015" tvg-logo="http://.../images/vMEmvfhCnuogg26mTxD50v0kE3u_big.jpg"
group-title="|FR| OSCARS 2021",
|FR| Mulan (2020) VFF

image 🔼 I must had chosen XMLTV "File" and "Channel", but it is not correct.

Plex DVR is based on TV channels, xTeVe cannot change that. In order for a channel to be available in Plex, program information (EPG) is required as an XMLTV file. The Dummy creates fake EPG data with the channel name and the specified length. No EPG == No channel in Plex.

Sounds like the feature the OP is requesting is what DizqueTV may be able to provide. https://github.com/vexorian/dizquetv

Everyone who complaints about VOD is missing in xTeVe has completely misunderstood the point with the software.

xTeve will identify and merge live tv channels and EPG data and make them available for PLEX/EMBY/KODI TV function.

If you also want VOD content, you must derive the content from the M3u and make STRM files and folders, upon which you can build a library!

Using this repo will help you achieve this:

https://github.com/erdesigns-eu/M3U2STRM

Then use the EMBY/KODI library function to build your VOD content. That is what the library function is for..not the TV channel function!!!

NB: PLEX has discontinued strm support. Just stop using plex and change to emby! Plex = play + sux
