Commenting first line of file doesn't work but specifying root file in command works

So the title says it all. Maybe I've got a missing character or something. The root file is: TuneMe.tex The sub file is: LiteratureReview.tex The first line in LiteratureReview.tex is % !TEX root = TuneMe.tex

Running :LLPStartPreview in TuneMe.tex works Running :LLPStartPreview TuneMe.tex in LiteratureReview.tex works Running :LLPStartPreview in LiteratureReview.tex doesn't work

All the files are in the same directory.

or you can change it to small letters "tex" which is not correct according to the documentation i.e. % !tex root = TuneMe.tex
