First, thank you for developing this wonderful app! I was struggling to find a CAT that suits my needs perfectly, and then I came across BasicCAT which came really close to that, better yet it's completely free. However, there are some features I would love to see in future updates of BasicCAT.
An easier way to edit source texts: While the current option functions completely fine, it has become kinda a hassle for me, as the document I'm currently working with was originally converted from PDF, therefore there were some formatting inconsistencies left here and there. It would be way easier if it's possible to edit the source texts directly in the editing area.
Word count display for segments: Could come in handy for specific scenarios.
Segment removal: For ease of editing. Sometimes some segments will be left blank for various reasons, and it would make things easier if segments are made removable.
Extended keyboard shortcut options: It would be nice if more functions can be mapped to keyboard shortcuts, also the shortcuts are customizable.
Multi-screen support and customizable UI layout: As far as I know, some translators have adapted to multi-screen setups to improve productivity. I would love to see a more customizable UI layout option that allows me to make the layout more to my likings, and multi-screen support would be the cherry of the top to that.
I hate that I have little to none programming knowledge so I have to ask for all of these, and maybe some of the functions are probably readily available, it's just that I haven't figured them out. But still, thank you for your hard work!
