Can you try to maintain ITH, you seem to know what you're doing and I love your work with LE so can you give it a try ? https://code.google.com/p/interactive-text-hooker/ It's open source, and has a lot of manuals to fool around, atm it's the primary source to hook text from games but as time goes by it's getting more outdated...

You should not use ITH nowadays. try VNR(https://code.google.com/p/annot-player/) instead :)

I know but VNR is overkill for simple grabbing text, maybe you can make a 'Lite' version of it by extracting from VNR only what makes it great to grab the text.

From the author of VNR:

    I think VNR serves a different purpose comparing to ITH. If what people want is simply extracting text than furigana dictionary and TTS, I guess ITH might be sufficient and a better fit than VNR.

    Regarding the improvement to the ITH engine within VNR, as far as I know, @foolmaker is maintaining ITH now by porting VNR's source code back to ITH.
    Maybe, xupeifei sensei could show @mspykerez the following web page?
