I understand MuSiC requires both sc and bulk data to estimate cell type proportions in the latter. I was wondering whether estimating cell type proportions in single cell data is as straightforward as clustering + counting cells, or actually there is a cleverer way to do this? I guess an option could be providing confidence intervals for the proportions (e.g. as in https://bmcbioinformatics.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12859-019-3211-9). I am thinking on differential proportion analyses.
