I just installed Siphon by Cydia, and it works correctly.
Could you tell us, if you tried with 3G/Edge or Wifi connection?
Could you tell us, if the settings are defined ?

I too have the same issue. I had the previous version working, after the update
this
morning it crashes around 30secs after the splash screen comes up. I'm on Wifi
with
an account already defined before I upgraded.

Do you see the dialpad (text below buttons) ? Or it crashes on splashscreen (no
text
below buttons)?

Could you define log level to detailled (/var/mobile/Library/Siphon) ?
Attach here or send me ?

No text below the buttons. Is there a config file stored that I can change? It
crashs
before my ability to go into settings.

Could you go to Settings app ?
The last of the list is Siphon settings

This is weird, when logging is set to detailed it doesn't crash. So I turned
logging
off and now it doesn't crash. Before I posted I tried launching multiple times,
before and after a reboot.

Yes this is weird.
But it's a good news, I don't need to find the problem.

I tried connecting over wifi first and then edge/3g and neither matters it wont
let
me past the spashscreen.

My settings are exactly the same as the last time when i had the previous
version
installed.

I only see the spashscreen With no text bellow buttons i am including the log
level
here samuel

i also just got the app to work by changing the logging to detailed and it
works fine
really weird.

By the way great update the speaker phone works perfect thanks for all your
hard work

I just updated the siphon app throught CYDIA.

It's working good over Wi-Fi, but over EDGE it crashes the screen, I mean, the
touch
screen get lost. ...

The dials idea when in a call is awesome!

I use an Iphone 2.1 fw

Thought I had the same problem. Was using it behind a firewall that blocked the
ports needed so Siphon
couldn't establish a connection. In ver 2.0 it stayed open, in this ver it
shuts down. Tried it again at home and it
worked fine.

Hope that helps.

I have same issue as comment 12. Also, the siphon is only up with the logging
level
is set to very detailed. But that will eat up disk space and will need constant
cleanup.

could you post the log or send me by mail, that I could analyze ?

After posting it, I did a cp /dev/null log.txt. Unfortunately, I didnt copy it
:(
But now, when I start the siphon behind firewall, its no longer crashing. It
just
shows "Request Timeout". If it happens again, I'll let you know.

I also have this issue on an iPhone 3G with Firmware 2.2.1, Siphon 2.0.3-1,
locked to
AT&T. This is one of our development phones, it is original AT&T but now being
used
in Hong Kong. Here's what we see.

No Service showing on the home screen (to be expected as its not in AT&T area),
no
Wi-Fi. Siphon starts up displays the default screen, then displays the keypad.
No
problem except of course can not make non cellular calls.

Here's where it gets weird!

Turn on Wi-Fi and associate to the access point. Can browse with Safari, and
use
other VoIP programs. Run Siphone it hangs at the default screen and after
awhile
dumps you back to the Home Screen. No logs are produced. Doesn't matter what
state
the debug log is set to, no Siphon log is ever generated.

I've reset the phone and re-installed 2.2.1 three times, jailbroke the iPhone
and
then installed Siphon only. Same identical results every time.

Today we installed a new TurboSIM made for 2.2.1. Once we get connected to a
local
carrier via 3G, Siphon works fine, no more hangs...

Possible bug in the code when it looks for connectivity? Even without GSM
connection
Siphon should be able to run via Wi-Fi only?

I have crash logs I can attach if you think they'd be of some use.

I also have this problem with the newest version.
When opening Siphon, it hangs on the splash screen for a little while, and then
crashes back to the springboard. Weird thing is, that sometimes it does work
without
changing anything. If it does work, and I respring / restart my iPhone, it will
stop
working again.
Also, when I put the log level on the highest setting (all settings have this
btw) it
won't even write a log if the application crashes.

I have this issue too.

The sip server only works inside the lan (IP is 192.x.x.x). When I try to
connect
inside the LAN, it hangs on the splash screen.

When I tried to login via 3g (outside the lan, thus not being able to reach the
server) it said "not connected".

I took logs at Detailed and Very Detailed, no luck so far...

(BTW, I tried the iTalk demo and that worked, so maybe i'm not configuring
something
right?)

Ok, I've done a fair share of testing.

I tried talk.fedoraproject.org (They've set up their own Sip server).

I can connect fine while on 3G but it hangs on Wifi...

Final comment regarding this issue.
I set up a VPN using L2TP and 3G.

I managed to make Siphon work vía 3G+VPN, but haven't been able to while
inside the
network Wifi...
