Using GSynth-Method but without extrapolation #61

Dear Xuyiqing,

are there any plans to extent the current package by adding a new option where the user can decide whether he wants to use extrapolation or not? I would like to use your package and compare the different models nested in it, but without extrapolation as originally proposed in Abadie et. al. (2010).

I think this would be particularly interesting and hopefully easy to implement.

Dear OD,

These are two fundamentally different methods -- my bad for the confusion caused by naming. The original synthetic control also relies on extrapolation, but it is non-parametric while gsynth is model-based and allow intercept shift. You can turn off intercept shift by using the "force = 0" option.
