The treated average prior to the treatment have changed when changing the time of treatment #69

Hi Yiqing,

I've encountered a problem with gsynth. I have 6 treated units and the original treatment was in 2011. Then I reset the time of treatment as 2013 for four treated units and 2014 for the other two units and reran gsynth. The result is confusing because the treated average of the outcome variable in the pretreatment period have changed. Can you think of any reason for that? Or have I made a mistake?

Looking forward to your reply. Thank you.

As usual, could you email us with three files? 1) sample dataset 2) sample code to replicate your error 3) a treatment status plot generated by panelView

Thank you! Yiqing

Hi Yiqing,

Please check the attached files.  The two Excel files contain data with different time of treatment: China1.xlsx 2011, China2.xlsx 2013 and 2014.

I've got a problem with the panelView command so I use plot command.

Thank you very much.

Hi Amy,

Could you send them from your email account to my Stanford email address? I can't access the attached/embeded pictures.

Also, please let us know what's wrong with the panelView package.

Bst, Yiqing

Hi Yiqing,

Did you receive the email I sent to your Standford email address?

Hi Yiqing,

I'm trying to apply GSC to my Ph.D thesis. And I've got one more question.

In the turnout example, both interFE and gsynth function are used to get the DID estimates. They produce different estimates. What's the difference between these two functions? Would you please explain it? Thank you.
