What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Enable SMS Popup
2. Disable Notifications in SMS Popup (so only notifications from stock sms app
can be seen)
3. Turn on Silent Mode
4. Enable Screen On for Popup under Additional Settings
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- Disabling notifications from sms popup means I won't get notifications from
this app, so I expect to see notifications from the stock messaging app only
- Screen should turn on when incoming text is received
- This behaviour is correctly observed only when silent mode is not on
- The problem is that nothing happens when silent mode is on (screen does not
turn on)
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v.1.2.4
CM10 Jelly Bean
Please provide any additional information below.
I'm using a Galaxy S, which doesn't have LED lights for notifications. I would
like the screen to light up when I get texts, especially when it's in silent
mode because this scenario is useful when neither ringing or vibrating is a
suitable way to alert me of texts (e.g. While I'm in class, or in a meeting.
I'd like to leave the phone on the table so I can visually see texts coming in
without disturbing others).
I understand that disabling notifications in this app doesn't disable the app
completely because the screen still turns on when it's in vibrate, ring, or
ring+vibrate mode. As the same is not true for the device while it's in silent
mode, I decided to write this as a defect report rather than a feature request.
I hope you understand my situation. Thanks
