Hi brother. Are you still using this laptop? If so, can you make it up to Sonoma without any issues? I'm interested into buying an 2020 model of this laptop, with I7 10510U. I'm currently using Lenovo IdeaPad S340 with i5 8265U and I used MacBook Pro 14,2 SMBIOS so I'm not able to upgrade to Sonoma. I need a better and faster laptop (not much of an upgrade though), which also looks nice and sleek.

Hi, can you give some information how you‘ve been able to install Sonoma? Is there any specific trick to be considered in order to make it work? For me it wasn’t possible to install Sonoma, neither by trying to make an update within macOS Ventura to Sonoma nor by trying to give it a fresh install from USB stick. Any idea?

Cleaning and Resetting NVRam and setting SecureBootModel to Disabled in config.plist did the trick. Sonoma installation went successful now. Great 😀

Hi there, has anybody managed to successfully install Sonoma 14.4? Installation of 14.3.1 worked fine but for whatever reason I cannot manage to install version 14.4.

Hello everyone, is Sonoma working well for you? What version do you have specifically installed? For my part, I tried Sonoma 14.5 and 14.3.1 and in both I had graphical glitches and restarts when opening apps like Discord, BalenaEtcher, Poe and Chrome. Unfortunately I don't have screenshots to prove it and I also downgraded to Ventura which until now I only had problems with the camera but related to the graphics everything works correctly. If you know anything about how to fix it please let me know, thanks!

Hi, I have Sonoma 14.4.1 installed and it works very well and stable. My warmest compliments again to xuzhimin1993 for providing that nice solution. Not sure whether we will be able to also run the latest version of Sonoma? @xuzhimin1993, can you say something on that?

CarloFaundez commented 4 months ago

@Jensilein I haven't tried 14.4.1 yet, but I think I'm going to have the same problems that I have with 14.5 and 14.3.1 I want to install macOS 14.3.1 or lower to have iMessages and FaceTime working over WiFi.
