All plugins in one archive - Not updated, for check_port plugin #861

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Fresh instal of rutorrent plugins - all together, using the rutorrent 'All
plugins in one archive' (Featured Option) -
http://code.google.com/p/rutorrent/downloads/detail?name=plugins-3.5.tar.gz&can=
2&q=

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output is to see all plugins must be updated to the latest rev with
all changes/corrections incorporated.
The check_port plugin is not updated in the 'All plugins in one archive'
(although this bug was corrected in rev 2319). And hence my port indicator on
rutorrent web interface gave "unknown port status" error with a yellow triangle.

What environment are you using?
1. My ruTorrent version is 3.5
2. My rTorrent version is 0.9.2
3. I use web-server apache2
4. I use browser FFox on OS win7

Are some errors present in the web-server log?
NO
Are some errors present in the browser error console?
No

Please provide any additional information below.
http://code.google.com/p/rutorrent/source/browse/trunk/plugins/check_port/action
.php
The individual check_port plugin has correct commands in its action.php file.
Same should also be reflected in the 'All plugins in one archive' download.
Anyone else installing plugins using the "all in one archive" will face this
problem. I believe it should be rectified asap to prevent others from facing
this issue.

Thanks for your awesome work.

Use svn for this. Download section contain release of 3.5 version.

I see, the correct way to install plugins is only svn.
The wiki gives method of svn as well as tarball install which is wrong as
"featured" tarball plugin is not maintained.
http://code.google.com/p/rutorrent/wiki/Plugins

Thanks for info, Shouldn't the wiki reflect same that only svn is the correct
way of installation ?
The number of downloads for the featured "all in one plugin" is 16k+ whereas
for other plugins is around 400+. The updating date of all in one tarball and
check_port plugin is also same but yet "all in one" wasn't the latest. The
"Featured" tag is definitely misleading as most people tend to download the
featured tarball which makes sense as they will have all plugins in one cmd
line itself. Alas.
I hope someone corrects the wiki or updates the "all in one" tarball correctly.
Otherwise, some people will still search for solutions to the trivial problem.

Again, thanks for the work.
