We need a road map or timeline to completing this work. #20

I need to organize the work we need to do into some deadlines and create a display for them.

It would be nice if these were also organized into issues in github and associated with milestones. That may be the easiest way to go about tracking them in real time.

I've created several milestones on github to track the overarching goals and deadlines we need to hit. I haven't added many issues yet, but those will be forthcoming as roadblocks arise to meeting each milestone.

This should serve to establish a basic roadmap with more details to be filled in later.
