This is a much requested feature. I cannot promise anything since I don't have 
time
to work on Gmail Notifier.

i will try to patch the source code but do not know how to make patches for the 
rest
of us. if i make it successful can you, the developer, add the changes to the 
svn?

@gwydionwaters: Sure... Unfortunately, I lack some time these days to continue
working on gmailnotifier but I try to keep maintaining it so it continues 
working
with current KDE versions...

If you make a patch to add a requested feature I'll try to find some time to 
review
it and, if I consider it useful and "clean" I will obviously add it to the SVN 
repo.

Since this issue is already opened, just attach your patch here and I'll do my 
best
to include it to gmailnotifier.
