can you peak the patch sets?
in Gingerbread, Camera API is significantly changed,
so many features are reverted in CyanogenMod.
then it is somewhat difficult to track the magic change sets.

@wkp // ok the problem about camera forceclosed solved. First flashing i did
fastboot -w, then flashing all new system snapshot image (system-gb-20110506).
Thats make my camera forceclossed. Then I restore my system via recovery image
to system-gb-110430-snapshoot which run smoothly on my device. After that I did
second flashing to system-gb-20110506 WITHOUT FLASHBOOT -W, update it and my
camera work again...Thanks wkp...

i think its for programmers easy:
make an image with another camera app
Ive just installed an other camera app and no troubles at al, still all sounds..
i think that the system image need an other camera app.

you can install camera 360 and see no problem (but GW620 has really slow Speed
camera)

I find it satisfactory to rename the sound file.
1. as root go to /system/media/audio/ui/
2. and rename camera_click.ogg to camera_click.ogg.renamed
It gets rid of the loud camera click sound too.

I tried again after reeading your message and you're right. My 2nd message
should be ignored. It's still fine with just removing/renaming camera_click.ogg

this is fixed libcameraservice.so and the patch against CameraService.cpp
you can try to test it by following steps.
1. adb remount
2. adb push libcameraservice.so /system/lib/
3. adb shell killall mediaserver (or reboot)
4. try to run Camera app.
I will upload it like as update*.zip, as soon as possible.

@DavidGF // speed up is not issue of OpenEVE.
currently Camara app does not support manual focus at all.
so you can try to use another Camera app
