Grey screen when using the widget and zooming

Hello. I helped a friend to set up the Ethis Mapping widget on his X20 after he had issues of no map data shown. The Interface was fine but it showed No Sat Tiles.

We fixed that by starting fresh and put the sat tiles in the correct place.

Now a new problem appeared. He had seen the screen with maps once or twice fine but then the whole screen goes grey. When he uses the touch zoom sometimes the map appears but most of the time its just a grey fullscreen image.

Any idea what could cause that? Is this a Ethos problem or something with the widget?

Hi, which flight controller are you using? And are you sure you created only a single telemetry screen with themapping widget?

Its a H743-WLITE with INAV 6.1.1. Same FC with a TX16S and Crossfire works fine with your ETX/OTX version. This is FrSky Tandem on this radio. Yes this is a completely fresh model with just one widget screen.

Sorry for the very slow reply, tiles on Ethos should be inside /bitmaps/yaapu/maps if you are using google as map provider then /bitmaps/yaapu/maps/GoogleSatelliteMap (if using satellite maps)

check if you have /bitmaps/yaapu/maps/nomap.png

You also need to select a valid GPS source in the widget configuration

@yaapu glad to see you again. Regarding the initial issue. When my buddy is zooming, sometimes the map is visible for a short moment but then goes grey again. So the map tiles are there and are found by the widget. that should be all fine.

Hi Thanks for the reply. My GPS source is default. The only other choice is external sport. The widget screen shows current GPS coordinates but says no GPS

If you're using ardupilot you don't need the mapping widget for the telemetry widget already supports mapping (and if you try to use both at the same time it won't work)

If you're not using my telemetry widget (inav, betaflight, etc) you'll have to use the mapping widget

so you never get here?

with no telemetry on, this screen is shown. But when the telemetry is there, usually the whole screen turns grey as in my screenshots above. Just when zooming around sometimes the map pops into existence for a short moment.

I'm using. (trying to) your telemetry widget with ardupilot so I've removed the mapping widget . But I can't get any sensors on the widget even though it puts the correct GPS coordinates on the bottom edge and RSSI (R900mhz) at the top. Where am I going wrong in the configuration? Is there an up to date YouTube for the Ethos colour setup with the X20

Good afternoon Yaapu I have the same issue: the GPS location is fixed and its value is displayed. However, no map appears, only a grey page with a 'no map data' marking. The tiles are indeed as you say: SD/bitmaps/yaapu/maps/sat_tiles/-4,-3,-2 etc what is the problem ? The GPS is a BN220 on a Sport port from a S8R from Frsky, Tx is a Horus X10exp. with Ethos 1.5.10
