in replit you can type "python3" into the shell and choose a version to install (choose the latest one), after its installed you will be thrown into python3 repl, exit it by typing "exit()" and pressing enter (there surely is a better way to install it but cba) after this, do "npm install" again

npm is not your distros package manager, its nodes package manager
