This is to track the progress in getting the site live.

Actions:

• [ ] @TimShirra @katieshuster to set up new hosting provider (e.g. GoDaddy, GreenGeeks)
• [ ] @TimShirra @katieshuster to get SpectraKey to transfer domains over to your new hosting provider Once this is done
• [ ] @TimShirra and @fadeomar to arrange a time for a call to update the DNS to point to at Webflow

Recommended providers We are not experts but I'd say some is dependent on your own objectives.

• Cheap and well know - GoDaddy is always a safe bet or Namecheap
• Ethical - GreenGeeks https://www.greengeeks.com/uk-web-hosting

@thejoefriel @katieshuster : just for my understanding - are we seeking this new provider as: a) hoster for just the web-domain registration, or b) as a host for that PLUS the actual website and all its assets? (which implicitly I'd assumed, and I know I should never do that, was with Webflow's hosting? Or c) something else?

Hi @TimShirra my understanding is A and then we just update the DNS to point to webflow where we will actually be hosting everything

@thejoefriel , @katieshuster: regarding the domain transfer, in helping us decide whether to A) stay with our existing supplier and ask them to repoint the domain when ready or B) transfer the domain so it is under CMT's direct control, we need to confirm that, under the new hosting arrangement with Webflow, we can securely place an html file within CMT's files, under password protection. This a signature file, which our Google workspace machinery uses to populate CMT members' email signatures and for GDPR needs to remain secure, but be accessible by Google workspace. If @katieshuster sends you a copy of the file, you could maybe test out that if it works?

If this is too complex right now, we would look to remain with the existing provider until we can find a solution. They will then repoint the domain to the new website URLs when we are ready to go live. But our preference is B) if possible, to transfer the domain.
