This came up the other day and you realised we don't have anything set up in Google Tag Manager. I've been setting up some Google Ads and GTM has come up again in relation to tracking conversions. I've been doing research and I can't get my head around what it is or how to set it up. I feel like it's probably something quite important, but are you able to explain to me what the purpose of it is and what we need to do to set it up properly, please?

Hey @ShannonTrust!

Good question! It can be a bit confusing to understand the difference between the two tools. Here's a breakdown that is probably clearer than what I would write!

Installing it is pretty easy, but requires a bit of access to the code, so I recommend signing up for GTM and then sharing your logins for Google Analytics + GTM with us so that we can set it up for you. We can then work with you to ensure that you are tracking whatever it is that is most important for you to track!

Hi @cyberteenie, thanks for sharing, that makes more sense! Some help setting it up would be really useful. I believe you already have access to our Google Analytics as you set up GA4 for us, and then I did sign up for GTM the other week and gave Abdelhalim access, but I can add anyone else as admin if needed.

@ShannonTrust - ok that sounds good. It would be good to jump on a call to discuss what exactly you need tracked as we might be able to do it more simply with Google Analytics. Is there a time next week that would work for you?
