One step up from the repeating drum track is a repeating arbitrary track.

Note that we have a concept of repeating notes in the pre-FAWM version, so repeating for a marker is doable. It adds a persistent marker, much like we do with chords/tracks, but instead of being a fixed set of possibilities, it is free-form.

With the main mode and the structure support, this should fall away completely.
