Color picker does not display correctly in IE9 #25

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to this URL in IE9: 
http://workshop.chromeexperiments.com/examples/gui/#4--Color-Controllers 
2. click on one of the color entries in dat-gui

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expected to see the square gradient color image and rectangular color band 
images display in the color picker. Instead neither show up in the picker. Note 
the picker still generally works, just hard to know what color you are choosing.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
a very recent build of dat-gui, at most a couple days old (today is 14/11/2012)

Windows 7, IE9

Please provide any additional information below.
all other browsers are fine.

This is because IE9 does not support linear-gradient. I am going to try my hand 
at a filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient based solution, and 
also a canvas based solution (ugh!)  

If I am successful, I will send you guys a patch.
