What is the scope of the api ?

Propose an api design A clear and concise description of what you want to happen.

What should it be able to do?

• be able to trade across thousands of players
• One player can be multiple channels
• Multi-server compatible (e.g. cross-server calls are possible etc.)
• Voice effects per player and per channel (the channel has a default voice effect and this can be overwritten per player for the player)
• A setting option to say that the channel is left or right.
• Microphone and headphones separately toggleable per channel
• Toggle 3D Voice per Channel and changeable range
• Events from VoiceServer to Client: addedToVoiceChannel(channelId), removedFromVoiceChannel(channelId), changedMicState(channelId, state), changedHeadphoneState(channelId, state)

that's all I can think of at the moment :(

I think a player to player implementation would be better, especially for proximity voice. But if it's possible, both impl design would be appreciated. 🫡

As long as everything is possible with both. Why not

I assume that when you say player to player you mean webrtc, also the audio would be piped to the game audio engine to benefit from the ambient effects
