Hi, I'll try to compile it today and get the newest version up. (I don't know if I have privileges to do it but I'll try). I'm not actively programming cause of lack of time but for this kind of job I can find some time.
PS. Just a small tip. All soft needed for compilation is available for free :] Ok you'll use a trial version of libraries BUT final version of this app works on a paid version so everything is ok :)
I actually attempted to use the trial versions, but couldn't get it to work. 99% chance of user error because i've never used the programs before.
If you don't have privileges, could you please post it on mediafire or another site? Thanks. :)
Sure, no problem but I'll do it at evening. Which in my time zone will be in 8 hours :)
I've been drowning in homework for the past 3 weeks and haven’t been able to fix any issues, but will start again in the next week (just bought BF3 :P)
I've also pm'd Russell yesterday asking what's up, so hopefully this project will get up to speed again :)

Seems like there's a habit of doing some development for a month, then disappearing off the face of the earth for half a year. There were some fixes that I needed, yet a new build was never recompiled. Nothing has been touched for almost a month now. The program is still basically useable, and it's a shame this much work has been put into it for it to just.. sit... here for so long. I don't have the expensive programs to compile the newest version.
I understand this is a hobby for you, but it should take a couple of seconds to recompile the newest version assuming you have these programs installed. If you are going on a break, I don't feel this is asking too much.
It's also a slap in the face for people testing the program, and especially for anyone doing some coding (connors). A few simple updates on what's going on and why development seems to be halted isn't required, but it's not asking much. At this rate it will be years before this program even sees beta.
Sorry if this is a little harsh, but I did put money into Yanfoe 1 and expected TV shows almost 2 years ago. I would of rather it kept its paid price, and you kept working on it as you were.
Reply to this email directly or view it on GitHub: https://github.com/yanfoe/YANFOE.v2/issues/189
@connors511 LOL bf3 xD I think everyone is now "afk" cause of this game :P
Good to see you are still around connors.
I just found out another thing, Yanfoe 1 no longer works. I tried earlier today, and just again now. Tried a complete fresh install of it too. Doesn't pull art right anymore, pulls 1 fanart, and 1 poster for every movie.. which always seem to be 720p and 154x231. :(
Strange I was using yanfoe1 a few days ago and it was working.
Same, it started just today it seems...
Still waiting for this, no rush though. I was out all day yesterday anyway.
Can anyone compile the existing build, please?
My guess is no one can. The license for this software is $1,000, and in order to compile a working copy you need the legit version of it.
My guess is Russel is the only one that actually bought it. The others can work on it fine with their "trial" copy.. but compile it will result in a "TRIAL ACCOUNT" error.
This product just needs another ~100 hours of development time before it's be pretty much good to go for most users. He's already put thousands of hours into it.. I'm just not seeing the logic to stop/slow development this far in. He can claim "it's a hobby, I do it in my free time", but that doesn't mean he can't spend 5 minutes to update us with a post on whats going on and if we are wasting time on software that will never actually see the light of day. There's no way he updated daily for a month, then decided "i'm not even going to visit my forums/github for a 2 months to see whats going on".
End of rant.
I just tried to compile and got the following errors. Metadata file ...\App\App\bin\Debug\YANFOE.exe' could not be found Invalid Resx file. Type DevExpress.Utils.ImageCollectionStreamer, DevExpress.Utils.v11.1, Version=11.1.7.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken-b88d1754d700e49a in the data at line 142, position 4 cannot be located. Line 179, position 5.
I can compile a version with trial version of DevExpress, but that would cause a popup on each start. Let me know if anyone is interested.
sure...anything would be better than nothing. :D
I've uploaded a build with the trial version of DevExpress.
It can be found under downloads.
