I noticed in your screen shots that you're using http://check.torproject.org.

While I do not log data and I hope that no one modifies it in transit, I
think that it's a good idea to only connect to that server with SSL
enabled. Additionally, I think it's useful to tell users that you're using SSL.

( Also, if you'd like a real API for checking if someone is using Tor,
please contact me and I can probably code something up for you. )

yes, trunk uses SSL - but you will need to compile against qt 4.5 or greater - 
see 
the source wiki page for more info.

would definitely be interested in a proper API for checking Tor. i've suggested 
some ideas for this in TORORA.design.
