Reading articles quickly in an RSS reader can be tiring, especially when going through a large number of articles. Uniform text can slow down reading speed and reduce comprehension, which can be frustrating for users who want to consume content efficiently.
Describe the solution you'd like
I propose adding Bionic Reading support to our RSS reader. Bionic Reading is a method that bolds the first few letters of each word, guiding the eye through the text and potentially improving reading speed and comprehension.
Specific features:
Option to enable/disable Bionic Reading in user settings
Ability to adjust the intensity of the effect (e.g., the number of bold letters per word)
Application of Bionic Reading to article content without altering titles or metadata
Describe alternatives you've considered
Implementation of other speed reading techniques such as RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation)
Addition of a "summary" mode that condenses articles for quicker reading
Integration of a text-to-speech tool for audio consumption of content
Additional context
Bionic Reading has gained popularity recently and could be an excellent addition to differentiate our RSS reader from the competition. Studies suggest that this method can improve reading speed by up to 30% for some users, while maintaining or even improving comprehension.
This feature could be particularly beneficial for users who read a lot of content daily or for those with reading difficulties such as dyslexia.
