Multi Time Zone related issue - Darg n Drop (with a workaround)

Hello, our teams are split across multiple time-zones. My team specifically are on 2 zones.

I'll call these TZ1 (which is the 'Home TZ') and TZ2, -7 hours apart. I am the only one in TZ2.

When I drag-n-drop tasks, they are dropped to the previous day (similar to #133) We do have new time management checked in the project settings.

I'm accessing Drop Plan exclusively on Edge browser (latest version, currently 124.0.2478.97) on a fully updated Windows 11 (Version 10.0.22621 Build 22621).

My Windows TZ is set to TZ2, my Azure's Time and Location settings are set to TZ2. I don't have the organization detail yet (I'm not the admin, but I'll ask), I'm guessing it is TZ1, because that's where the development team originated, that is why I consider TZ1 as the Home TZ.

Everything is working as expected for those in the Home TZ.

Workaround

The way I worked around the issue was with the following browser extension ^edge/chrome. I've configured it to Spoof TZ1 on the following site only:

This way I still have the DevOps system display everything to me in my local TZ, and I can work with the Drop Plan as I need.

I'm sharing it here so that:

• Others who might have the same issue might find it useful.
• In the hopes that this detail helps you understand the root cause of this problem, and maybe there is a fix for it. Maybe add a 'home TZ' setting?
