What does this mean for this project?

Nefarius has been talking about a successor for ViGEm being developed in the background for a while, we'll see where this goes.

Until then, we'll stay on version 17.333 I would say, as it doesn't have the broken auto-updater thing.

So you're saying this doesn't use the auto-updater?

Yes, the vigembus version packaged in vgamepad, 1.17.333, doesn't bundle the broken auto-updater
