It seems that there are now precompiled Win installers for Python 2.7: http://dragffy.com/blog/posts/ython-pycrypto-2-4-1-32-and-64-bit-windows-32x64-amdintel-installers

and Python 2.6:

Issue 54 has been merged into this issue.
