“Permission required to read calendar events.” #2

  1. I’ve installed the app. It has not asked me on any permissions, but I’ve granted all the permissions (calendar, contacts, storage) anyway (by hand).
  2. After that I put the events widget on desktop and it displayes only this message:

“Permission required to read calendar events.”

I haven’t done anything else within the app yet... should I?

It’s confusing: I haven’t changed anything but now when I put events widget, it does not display the error - it does not display any events either :( . Do I need to have Google Calendar installed?

Hello, Thomas.

That strange. The app should request permissions to read contact and calendar events (do you have one?). Try to grant them manually in app system settings

It turned out that I had “WiFi-only” checked within Android synchronization settings (long tap on the “Sync” icon on Android notification shade). This did not help quickly, however. I discovered “Update data” and “Restart application” options within the app - the first did not help either, the latter resulted in the widget finally displaying events.

Could the app ask on calendar permission once first run?
