Proxy switchy not working at all #396

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install proxy-switchy or just use it as you have in the past
2. Select one of the proxies manually or auto switch mode
3. Notice that your IP number does not change when visiting a site on the
internet

What is the expected output?
Should work. Visiting an outside site should actually route through the
selected proxy.

What do you see instead?
It is as if I am "direct connection" all of the time

Operating system:
Linux fedora 15 x86_644 all updated.

Error Log:
From proxy-switchy log:

[12:16:25] [info] - Extension Info: v1.6.3
[12:16:25] [info] - Browser Info: 5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/535.1
(KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/14.0.835.109 Safari/535.1
[12:22:43] [success] - Everything is OK

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

I've used this extension for a long time and it typically works without issue.
Now, it just doesn't work. I do regular updates with yum update under fedora 15
and perhaps the latest chrome broke it?

I also have the same problem. Nothing I do seems to ensure that the other
proxies get used. Even if I select them directly it reverts to the direct
connection.

And I just noticed that when I enable my proxy to Charles (the web debugging
proxy) using Switchy in Chrome, suddenly Firefox starts using the proxy. Not
sure if that is by design or what

I am using Chrome 15.0.874.121. I have pac file but Proxy Switchy does not work
with it on Ubuntu. There is no problem with Windows.

Same problem here ... Chrome version 21.0.1180.75 and Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit.
I also used this great tool a lot. But now it doesn't work at all.
Unfortunately it is useless right now. Hopefully this will be fixed very soon.
The idea was great ...

FYI, FoxyProxy now works for Chrome. I recommend everyone use that. I think
SwitchyProxy is dead development-wise.
